Some people really believe the Bible

Some people, in fact the majority of Americans, say they believe that the Bible is literally true. This includes the old Testament where Leviticus is often quoted for its condemnation of homosexuality and Genesis where the story of Noah's ark is told. Charles Firth with the Australian satirical comedy group The Chaser talked to some believers in Texas and asks them to help kill his son because he is cursing him. Fortunately, they don't truly believe because they don't go along with the idea.
Does this mean that people say they believe but they don't really?

Note that Firth did not talk about Muslim beliefs or ask people about Noah but the Qu'ran includes references to Noah although with different details.
