The idea of creation 6400 years ago is funny!

It's hard for me to believe, but there are actually people who think that God created the world 6400 years ago - "Just like the Bible says". Further, they believe that there really was a flood that covered the whole world. (Where did the water come from? Or did God shrink the mountains for a while?) Further, Noah built an ark to save all the animals! (Did he travel to Australia to collect the kangaroos?)
Maybe I'm too isolated here in Canada and I don't talk to people like this. Mostly I think that this is funny - but I suppose people living in the Bible Belt think it's serious - these people really do exist.
One group has created a web site that uses the oxy-moron "Creation Science" - I'll even give them a plug - you can find it here: www.drdino.com It's operated by Eric Hovind. and as far as I can tell he's serious - but any good comedian needs a straight man. The funniest part is a video where they explain how Noah managed to fit all the species on the Ark (I'll give you a preview: all species developed over a period of 6400 years and came from way fewer "kinds".) They even quote Richard Dawkins' book at one point - I bet they thought that was clever. A pity none of them ever took a science course beyond elementary school.
The video below was on their site 12 months ago but now seems to have been removed. Maybe they wanted a more slick presentation - are people fooled by slicker videos? I guess so, advertising companies spend a lot to make their videos slick. Have a look at the rest of their site - but you need to keep your sense of humour. And if you are Canadian, be happy that there are way fewer of these nuts in the Great White North.
You could say they are harmless but they are working towards destroying science. Without science, we would not have the world we have today and ironically they would not have the Internet to propagate their message.
