Pat Condell - Jews and Muslims

For some reason I cannot understand, many liberals seem to want to support Hamas and other Palestinian militants and they condemn Israel.  Although some deny it, they are really just being outright Jew-haters – or to put it more kindly, irrationally anti-Semitic.  They may be right that Israel has not been angelic – but the current occupants of Israel did not create the country they occupy.  Israel was created by the UN after the second World War.  But no matter how it started, it is there now and must be allowed to stay.  The obvious solution is to implement the solution proposed by President Obama –  two countries living side-by side.   One of Obama’s smartest proposals.   Only borders need to be fixed and some of the newer Jewish settlements may need to go.

Meanwhile, Muslim hatred must moderate.  The reason Hamas exists and the reason most Muslims hate Jews is because they are taught this hate from childhood.  It is not because of the actions of Israel – it is pure prejudice.  Christians also have residual hate generated by hatred taught by the Catholic Church for millennia – the Jews  were said to be responsible for killing Jesus.  That is also strange – surely the Jews should be thanked for creating the background of the Christian religion?  But although one of the Popes withdrew that accusation, it is still believed deep down.

And why the hatred of Jews?  Why is there anti-Semitism at all? Apart from the hatred taught by Churches and Mosques, is it because they claim to be  “God’s chosen people” – that is, they claim that their god is the right one – just like Christians and Muslims?  They have always been a small group – how could such a small group dominate  the world like they are accused of attempting?  If you talk to Jews (they are ordinary people…), you will find that one of their big concerns is guarding against persecution and discrimination.  That’s why they like to work for themselves as professionals or in small business.  No mystery, no conspiracy.

There is no doubt that Muslims in Europe in particular have an ongoing hatred for Jews.  Perhaps fewer of the European Muslims have had the benefit of a good education or maybe they simply cannot think for themselves.  Most Muslims in Europe are there because they were imported as cheap immigrant labour.  I have not seen the same hatred of Jews by Muslims in Canada but maybe I don’t mix with a big enough sample.

But Pat Condell in England certainly has no time for the Muslims he knows about.  After the video below, if I was Pat, I’d be keeping a low profile!

I hope Pat knows that it’s not only Muslims who hate the Jews.   Many Christians and atheists can be described as Jew-haters too.  Read the comments on Pat’s video on You-Tube.  In Canada we even have an organization of gays who accuse Israel of practising apartheid.   Clearly anti-Semitic   Although they are entitled to free speech, they are being denied any help from the taxpayers in the City of Toronto.

Comments by the "Atheist Jew"

On June 1st, the following article appeared on the blog "The Atheist Jew"  It included Pat's video as above.  I agree with his comments and I'm pleased they come from someone like him.

The best point made is that a Jewish State needs to exist. And like me, Pat realizes the need isn't based on religious fantasy, but actual and potential anti-semitism which will only get worse as Islam continues to grow in the West.

Recently, a sociology professor wrote a paper which concluded that over 50% of Muslims pretty much hate Jews. A Muslim advocacy group, Vigilance Musulmane wants to shut up the professor though.

I'll mention it again, many Muslims are complete hypocrites. Muslims coming to the West is A.O.K. but Jews going to the middle east is a no no. Perfect example is Dearborn, Michigan. In the late 1800's there were approximately 0% Muslims there, but now they represent over 50% of the population. If you don't think things changed for the original inhabitants of Dearborn (I'm not talking Native Americans), you are in denial. The annoying sounds coming from Mosques at prayer time is just one example.

Now lets look at Israel. It wasn't even a sovereign country when Jews started to go there in the late 1800's and first half of the 20th Century. They had a majority in place where the Jewish part of the partition existed in 1947, and the Arabs rejected this idea. They didn't reject the formation of the Muslim state of Pakistan in 1947 though.

In a related note, I find the bashing of Obama's speech by the mostly Far Right, and mostly Right Wing Jews to be completely farcical. Obama stated that the 1967 borders should be used as a starting point for negotiations. This is nothing different than what Bush Jr. stated when he was President (he actually stated they use the 1949 lines). But Obama is perceived by yo yo's as pro Islam and anti-Israel, while Bush was perceived as being the opposite. So even though the message is the same, all that matters to these nuts is the messenger.
