Bill Maher has recently commented that he will never get an Emmy despite having been nominated 22 times because of his openly expressed opinion on religion. (LA Times). He produced the movie Religulous (trailer below) and cemented his position as an outsider to the establishment in Hollywood but he is also a career comedian with successful TV shows - currently on HBO with "Real Time". I am one of those people who thinks that comedy is a great way to communicate a message so I am a great supporter of Bill - see also other articles featuring Bill.
There are several videos featuring Bill on this site (see side bar at left) but here is one from 2007 that summarizes what he thinks. It focuses on religion in general and how it interacts with politics in the U.S. - but then that still seems to be a major issue.
